RJS Consultants provide computer support and technology services in the Watford and surrounding areas – please see the box at the bottom of the page for a longer list of the areas that we cover – although this cannot be an exhaustive list. It is about a 15 mile radius from Watford.

Please review this area of our website through the links on the left to discover the range of services that we can provide to both small businesses and home users, or call us and we’ll be happy to explain them. We are also very happy to come to you and explain in more detail.

In particular, for clients who want more than just ad-hoc support, we can create a support agreement to match your requirements, whether that is hours/days per month, or proactive support on a per PC basis. More details on the relevant Support Agreement page.

If you have an agreement for support based on a number of days per month (which we would recommend), we will also commit to be on your site within 48 hours of discussing your issue – and if we can get there sooner, we will.

With the latest technologies available, we would hope to be able to do a lot of support without having to come to your offices, and therefore be able to be more responsive, but that is not always possible.

We also will be flexible with the support agreement. If you over-run or under utilize our services one month, it can be compensated for in the following month. We understand and appreciate that IT is not an exact science that can rigidly cope with a fixed amount of support every month.

In short, we will do all we can to help you. Your success means that we are also successful – and so if we can be partners together, we can make a great team.

RJS Consultants can order and install networks, computers and peripherals for you, including the installation of your business software.

We like to become your partners, looking after the whole of the technical environment for you, so that you can concentrate on your business, and we’ll take responsibility for all the computing capability on which your business probably relies.

We have put together some great support packages that enables us to proactively help you. This can be for as little as 3 hours a month, or as much as you need.

We take great care to protect your systems and PC network from virus and spyware – and can clean PC’s should they become infected.

We have a partner status with some high profile vendors:

  • Dell, who give us access to great deals and delivery capability on your behalf.
  • HP, which we generally use for printers, as they are (in our opinion) the best available and supportable. HP also do some excellent laptops as an alternative to Dell.
  • Netgear, They offer a minimum of 2 years warranty on all their equipment, which we so rarely find problems with.
  • Symantec. Their network anti-virus, anti-spam and remote management/reporting capability really do help us look after computer networks extremely effectively.
  • Webroot, who provide single computer anti-virus and internet security.

These are not necessarily always the cheapest options available – but they do together provide the most reliable networks, and in the environment that you work, that is extremely important.

Through its’ many years of experience, RJS Consultants are able to provide training to groups of staff or one-to-one tuition.

Our training and tuition can range from simplistic and general use of the internet/email, to specific tuition on Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc) and business applications such as QuickBooks from Intuit.

We prefer to do the training on your premises, so that you are familiar with the computer and any practice in-between the sessions can be on the material used as part of the training/tuition.

A question that we often hear at the beginning of a discussion is “How much time is required?”. The answer to this question depends on so many factors that it is impossible to give a categorical answer.

We are able to offer everything from a one-off session through ad hoc sessions to a series of regular sessions, depending on what you want to learn, and how quickly you absorb the material.

Each one-to-one session usually lasts one hour. This is the generally acknowledged optimal attention span. Depending on the interest and how well the material is being absorbed, the sessions might run a little longer – and sometimes a little shorter.

For group sessions, we usually allow 2 to 3 hours, to give time for the training session, question and answer and some individual attention.
